Statutory Self Employment Payment

The Coronavirus Bill dated 23 March 2020 and currently passing through Parliament refers to the introduction of Statutory Self Employment.

  • The scheme is intended to apply to individuals who are self employed or freelancers

  • Payments will be paid out of public funds for Statutory Self Employment payments

  • The payments are subject to a cap of £2,917 a month

  • They will be calculated by taking the average monthly net earnings over the last 3 years and paying 80% of those net earnings or £2,917 whichever is the lowest.
